Every day: home-cooked meals and stories

An English club, not a "waiting room".

A three-to-six-year-old's day is long, and every hour of it goes somewhere. At Fireflies it goes into play, movement, meals at one table with friends, a proper nap and stories, all of it in English.

Kids spend the day with us and leave having lived it in a second language. Without noticing.

One day at Fireflies

Nine to five, every weekday

Time: 09:00

Arrival and free play

Kids arrive, say good morning in English and join the play. A soft start for anyone who finds goodbyes hard.

Time: 09:30

Morning circle

Songs, the calendar, the weather, names. The small ritual that starts the English day.

Time: 10:00

Focus time

Letters and sounds for the big kids, sensory play for the little ones, crafts for everyone. In short rounds, the way this age works.

Movement time

Active games, balance play, animal walks. The coordination play growing bodies need.

A fresh-cooked lunch

A proper meal from our kitchen: vegetables, good meat, pasta kids actually eat. Broccoli has fans here. Always included in the price.

Time: 12:30

Nap time

Sleep from 12:30 to 14:30 for the sleepers. Outgrown the nap? Quiet rest with books on a mat, then silent table activities.

Snack and play

A slow wake-up, a snack, then music, role play, running a shop and a restaurant in English.

Closing circle and story

We remember the day and read a story. Come a little early and listen with them.

Eight hours in English. Every day.

Not a lesson. A life in English.

Who's behind Fireflies

Run by camp people.

Ritchel, co-founder and head teacher, with the club children

Ritchel CO-FOUNDER & HEAD TEACHER

Ritchel runs the room. A nursing and law student who looks after kids and teaches them English through play, she has babysat Russian children from St Petersburg and families across Southeast Asia, and she understands enough Russian to catch what a little one is trying to say through tears. Lunch, the craft table, a rough moment: all of it becomes English practice, without a single worksheet. And she is exactly the person you want nearby when a knee gets scraped.

Richard, founder and program director at Fireflies Club

Richard FOUNDER & PROGRAM DIRECTOR

Richard designs the program. 13 summers organising and teaching English camps for kids across Europe, a 20 year career working in English across 10 countries, and now Nha Trang. Every craft, menu and bedtime story on the schedule comes from one camp lesson: kids pick up a language fastest when they are busy living in it.

  • Four children per teacher, maximum
  • Richard is nearby and reachable all day
  • Kids are released only to adults you have named
  • Hard moment? We comfort first and message you honestly
Questions parents ask

FAQ

Does my child need to speak English already?

No. Zero English is fine. The room, the games and the gestures do the teaching. Kids adapt shockingly fast.

What ages do you take?

3 to 6. Your child should be fully toilet-trained. For English for older kids, write to us.

My child does not nap.

That is fine. Anyone who has outgrown the nap rests with books on a mat, then works quietly at the table while the others sleep.

My child is a picky eater.

Tell us. We meet picky eaters halfway: something familiar is always on the table (pasta, rice, cucumber plates are undefeated), the new food gets offered without a fight, and we'll tell you honestly what got eaten.

Can siblings come?

Yes. Second child gets 25% off any plan.

The 9 to 5 schedule does not work for us.

The standard day runs 9:00 to 17:00. Write to us and we will talk about what can be done.

Can we see the club before signing up?

Of course. Come and meet us with your child: half an hour with us, see the room, ask anything you like.
